Vaccine-or-Testing Mandate Will Be Difficult to Implement

The Biden administration has directed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to issue an emergency temporary standard (ETS) requiring all private employers with 100 or more workers to mandate COVID-19 vaccination or a weekly test for all employees.

The latest research by SHRM found that 80% of organizations that meet these requirements are concerned about the time they will have to spend enforcing or tracking employees’ vaccination or test status.

2 in 5 of those organizations believe some of their employees will quit their jobs due to the new requirements.

78% of HR professionals said the vaccine-or-testing requirements will make attracting and hiring new employees more difficult.

82% of HR professionals said the requirements will make maintaining morale and engagement more difficult, as well.
